Cruising, hands down! My husband I have found that the most cost effective way to see the places we want to see is by ship!  All inclusive, with the exception of alcohol, which we don't partake in a whole lot anyway, really is budget friendly.  Look for a cruise port that you can drive to.  New Orleans, Florida (both coasts), Boston, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington and California all have cruise ports. If you are in the middle of the US where it isn't possible to drive to a port, look for cheap airfare during the middle of the week, on sites like Expedia and Orbitz.  Disney cruises are NOT budget friendly, so skip it if money is an issue.  Royal Caribbean is on the higher side, but have some good sales.  Carnival is usually a bit cheaper.  Norwegian has some nice ships and great waterslides for the kiddos.  If you are a land lubber, check out Couples Resorts in Jamaica.  We love the atmosphere they provide, a lot smaller than Sandals Resorts and many other All Inclusives...but, as the name says, couples only.  B&B's in beach towns along the East Coast are also a big favorite of ours.  Happy Traveling, everyone!!!
